WELCOME TO THE NSHL

Congratulations to the ST. MICHAEL'S PRIVATEERS for winning their first-ever Farley Cup in 2009.

Founded in 1996, The National Strat-O-Matic Hockey League (NSHL) is a play-by-email league using the Strat-O-Matic game engine. Twenty-four teams will compete in the 2007-08 NSHL season, the league's eleventh.
Each team plays 82 games over the course of a twenty-two week season, with the top sixteen teams advancing to the Farley Cup playoffs.

Home owners play four games every two weeks, either by following the road team's Computer Manager (CM) or by head-to-head play over Net Meeting. League files are centrally updated and can be found here. Owners also manage their team rosters, orchestrating trades, free agent signings and draft picks. Each two-week period begins and ends with the NSHL Newsletter.

In this issue of the NSHL Newsletter #13.15 of April 1, 2010:

2010 Farley Cup Playoffs Underway

Some great first round matchups coming up - the Western Conference features three divisional rivalries (Sasquatch/Whitecaps, Fiddler Crabs/Rainiers, and Scouts/Tarantulas), as does the Eastern Conference (Bulldogs/Berserkers, Hellcats/Wanderers, and Green Calves/Blades).

This is a playoff team?

Yes, folks, it is true. The Pittsburgh Hornets, despite giving up a franchise record 305 goals, despite having mediocre special teams, despite a 32-43-7 record, despite amassing only 71 points, are returning to the Farley Cup Playoffs.
